Hydro Power: Liquid Gold with Drax

We were delighted to announce our recent partnership with Drax to provide Verallia with a greener energy solution in hydro power. We will be sourcing 66 gigawatt hours (GWh) of electricity annually from their river hydroelectric scheme in Scotland.

The use of hydroelectricity will make a significant difference in our journey to lessen the impact of our operations and reduce our carbon emissions as we strive towards our sustainability goals. Isle of Barra Distillers is moving their brand towards a greener future with their new bottle release!

We have worked with the Isle of Barra distillery to move from 100 per cent extra white flint glass to a minimum of 52 per cent recycled glass per bottle. The unique qualities of each bottle created by the recycled glass content alongside the representation of the sea within its shape allow this glass packaging to be a true testament to the brand.

COP27 has kicked off this week at the official summit being held in Egypt.

We are seeing world leaders come together to discuss what the next steps are to tackle climate change and how countries are to begin implementing strategies to hit the targets set last year at Cop26. But, moving towards a more sustainable future requires great levels of collaboration and a united front.
