Driving Circularity: Our Commitment to Sustainable Packaging
Vista by Verallia UK is a result of years of expertise, a dedication to being leaders in sustainability, and a commitment to advancing sustainable glass packaging. To forge Vista glass, our team started with one key ingredient: cullet.
Enhancing the circularity of glass packaging means keeping glass in circulation through processes like as maintenance, reuse, remanufacture and recycling. The principles behind this include eliminating waste and pollution and circulating materials.
To support this, we’ve established 19 dedicated cullet processing centres across 8 countries. These facilities sort, clean and prepare used glass, giving new life to our premium glass bottles. Many of our plants recycle all of their internal cullet and are dedicated to reusing cullet collected from consumers wherever possible.
These efforts have allowed us to significantly increase the amount of recycled glass we use. In 2023 alone, Verallia used an additional 227,000 tonnes of cullet compared to 2019, equating to more than 54,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions avoided.

York Gin was the first brand to adopt Vista by Verallia, applying our 100% post-consumer recycled glass to the latest edition of their packaging.
A proudly local brand, York Gin draws inspiration from the heritage and culture of its historic city. Rooted in traditional English gin-making, the distillery blends timeless craft with forward-thinking values. Sustainability runs through every part of their business, from operating on 100% renewable electricity to introducing electric vehicles, water management systems and responsible waste disposal. Their mission is to honour their heritage while minimising their impact on the planet.
The new edition of York Gin’s bottle is made using Vista. The bottle’s square walls echo the iconic city walls that encircle York, the brand’s historic home. This distinctive design is complemented by the bold embossing of the York Gin name at the base, a striking nod to their signature font.
Vista glass lends a subtle blue tint, described by the team as a “unique feature” that enhances the final look. A sustainable label finishes the bottle with elegance.
Collaborating with York Gin on the first-ever bottle curated in Vista was a pleasure. Their commitment to working with a local supplier reduced transport emissions and reinforced our shared values.
