The Verallia Group presents its employer branding to promote its expertise and the future of glass professionals

Verallia, the European leader and the world’s third largest producer of glass packaging for beverages and food products, is structuring its employer branding strategy in line with its purpose “Re-imagine glass for a sustainable future”.

As a committed ESG player, the Group is reaffirming its determination to make the most of the diversity of its professions – the legacy of over 200 years of glassmaking expertise – and their specific characteristics, in line with its promise “Passionate about glass. Inspired by you.” 

At a time when the quest for meaning has become a key criterion in career choices, the glass industry is responding more than ever. As a sustainable and infinitely recyclable material, it is an essential link in the circular economy.

Promoting A Forward-looking Industry, a Strategic Lever For Attracting and Retaining Talent

Maximising the visibility of glass professions is a crucial lever to support the Group’s innovation and the development of a cutting-edge industry. Faced with the environmental challenge, glass embodies one of the most effective sustainable alternatives, and draws on its many assets to accelerate its own decarbonisation. The Group’s glassmaking expertise and extensive R&D are pushing back the limits of design to produce ever-lighter container designs, open up new avenues for re-use solutions, deploy new melting technologies or reinforce the circularity of glass through recycling.

The glass industry is primarily perceived as a manufacturing sector, which is why it’s important for us to demystify the great diversity of our professions and, above all, to promote them through an impactful and inspiring employer branding policy. 18th of November marks International Poitin Day.

Poitin is a traditional Irish spirit, typically distilled between 40%-70% ABV that dates back to 1st Century AD. Historically the spirit was outlawed in Ireland as a result of taxation in 1661, but more recently has had a revival, being legalised in 1997.

Poitin carries an abundance of Irish heritage, being made with native ingredients such as barley, potatoes, and oats. Today Poitin is quickly gaining popularity, as it’s exported across countries, telling its story across borders.

Embodying Irish craftsmanship, @DrinkMadMarchHare_ celebrates heritage in every bottle. They expertly produce smooth, authentic poitin, encompassed in a decadent glass bottle created by Verallia.

Today marks an artistry that is often described as ‘fiercely Irish’.

We are winners! 🥇

Three of our decadent glass bottles were shortlisted for Glass Pack of the Year at the UK Packaging Awards.

We are proud to announce, that after dominating the category with three bottles shortlisted, Verallia are the winners of Glass Pack of the Year, for @secretgardendistillery's botanical gin bottle! 👏

The judges were complimentary of the use of recycled glass in this premium bottle, a sustainable alternative to traditional white flint. We are dedicated to sustainability, and this award recognises that our expertise can create packaging that exudes opulence whilst being sustainable.

We also received commendation on our ‘Classic Laddie’ bottle, created for @bruichladdich. Another excellent example of sustainability hand-in-hand with sophistication, as they opted for a 34.47 % reduced-weight bottle.

Well done to our talented team for crafting award-winning glass packaging that fuse sustainability and style!

🍾 @ThreeSpiritDrinks’s dark and mysterious packaging for their ‘Starter Pack’ range.

🍾 @SecretGardenDistillery’s bespoke botanical-themed gin bottle.

We are elated to have been shortlisted three times in one category and that the hard work of our team has been recognised.

Studies have shown that the No-Lo market is certainly on the rise as consumers prioritise moderation and health, with sales almost doubling in 2023. This season, football fans were embracing non-alcoholic alternatives of well-known favourites for the latest UEFA championship.

You can identify our bottles with our distinct punt marks “VUKG” and “VUKL” which mark Verallia UK Knottingley and Verallia UK Leeds – marked on the base of the bottle.
