Crafted from 100% post-consumer recycled (PCR) glass, Vista by Verallia sets a new standard in sustainable packaging. 

How Recycled Glass Can Shape a Greener Future

1. Bespoke Packaging Made Greener: Vista by Verallia gives brands a competitive edge with sustainable packaging that commands attention. It offers the flexibility to create bespoke, story-driven designs that captivate consumers, with the same quality premium look and feel, comprised of entirely recycled glass.  
2. Utilise Less Raw Materials: Using PCR glass means our glassmakers can expertly craft your bottle without the need for raw materials, enabling us to conserve our natural resources. Recycling one ton of cullet helps conserve 1.2 tonnes of virgin raw materials.
3. Sustainable Manufacturing: By manufacturing packaging with PCR glass, we significantly reduce the energy generated in manufacturing. This is a result of recycled glass having a lower melting point, this consumes 40% less energy than producing virgin glass. It also emits less greenhouse gases, such as carbon dioxide and nitrogen oxide, as well as using less water in production.  

Sustainable Packaging for a Yorkshire Distillery

One of Yorkshire’s most well-known spirit brands, York Gin, has made history as the first gin to adopt 100% recycled UK made glass into their bottle.  

Steeped in a city of heritage and history, they are committed to a sustainable future. Powered by green energy, operating plastic free, and responsibly disposing of their waste, York Gin are an ethical distillery, supporting local causes. 

Taking the next step to responsible production, they partnered with Verallia to reimagine their distinctive packaging in 100% recycled PCR glass.

Transitioning from extra white flint, produced solely from virgin glass, to Vista, crafted entirely from recycled glass, York Gin have been able to substantially decrease their environmental footprint.   

York Gin transitioned to this new more sustainable glass type whilst staying in its bespoke glass bottle shape which was designed by Verallia UK. The square bottle’s walls replicate the world-renowned walls that surround York, the brands home.  This is accompanied by their brand name, which is embossed at the base of the bottle.
