Verallia 2021: A Year in Review
We may be well into January but at Verallia, we still have the past 12 months on our minds. From esteemed new clients to prestigious awards, 2021 was a fabulous year for us here at Verallia. And whilst we have a great number of things to look forward to in 2022, we’d like to take a moment to reminisce on what we achieved last year.
Our Customers
Our customers are always at the centre of what we do here at Verallia, therefore they are first up on this whistle stop tour of our 2021.
We gained nearly 80 new partners, from emerging brands to large blue-chip companies. Many of this new cohort of customers have had containers created from a mix of our general trade portfolio and our premium range catalogue. Whilst some have opted to develop their own bespoke bottle with our team, taking advantage of Verallia’s wide range of decoration capabilities.
We see this growth in our glass family as cause for celebration.
We were also delighted to celebrate alongside our friends at Black Cow Vodka, winners of the 2021 BBC Food and Farming Awards in the UK’s Best Drinks producer category – a truly an amazing feat bearing in mind there were over 500 separate nominations from brands who not only make incredible drinks but are doing things a little bit differently.
Verallia’s Awards and Accreditations
In all the busyness of 2021, we were still able to take some time out to celebrate some amazing achievements, including our award wins.
- UK Packaging Award
We can accredit our win of our UK Packaging Award in the category of Glass Pack of the Year to Shivering Mountain Gin. The bottle’s punt houses the Mam Tor, aka the ‘Shivering Mountain’. The spellbinding bottle captures the brand perfectly and we are delighted that it was awarded this honour.
- British Glass – Glass Focus Awards
Our Glass Focus Award in the category of Design of the Year was awarded to us for our work with CleanCo on their CleanT bottle. The sleek design and stormy coloured glass could not have been resisted for this category.
- EcoVadis Gold Award
Ecovadis is an accreditation used to measure a company’s sustainability, so we are thrilled to have been awarded this at a gold level. To achieve accreditation, a rigorous self-assessment was undertaken and submitted to gain a sustainability score. This accreditation is extremely important to us with sustainability being a huge part of our ethos.
COP26
A perfect way to follow on from our EcoVadis accreditation, we were chosen to produce a glass bottle for COP26 with The Scotch Whiskey Association. The bottle was produced using 97% recycled glass. In addition to this, a huge proportion of the energy used to manufacture the bottle came from renewable sources. This was a perfect highlight within our busy year.
Looking Forward
Looking over the past 12 months only builds our excitement for what is to come. The next year will be monumental as we strive to achieve more than we ever have before. If you are interested in scaling your spirits brand in 2022, speak to our experts today. Contact us
